Built in conjunction with Oxford Consultants for Social Inclusion (OCSI), ICON’s Hyper-Local Need Index (HLNI) identifies neighbourhoods at risk of failing to meet the government’s five missions for national renewal – ‘mission critical’ neighbourhoods.
The HLNI framework provides a quantative means of assessing the socio-economic challenges presented within these missions at a neighbourhood level. The HLNI identifies 613 neighbourhoods that score 80 or higher in the Hyper-Local Needs Measure. Within these neighbourhoods, 920,000 people reside.
The below map provides an overview of mission critical neighbourhoods within each constituency in England.
